Amarr Classica Carriage House Install in Knoxville, TN

Recent Project

Project Area: TENNESSEE, knoxville, Completed: July 27, 2026

When this homeowner reached out to Skylift Garage Doors, their original steel doors were nearly 20 years old and starting to show it — dented panels from years of wear, a torsion spring that had finally given out, and an outdated look that no longer matched the character of the home. With a wooded, tree-lined lot and a warm, earthy exterior palette, the homeowner wanted something that felt more custom and less “big box builder grade.”

We recommended the Amarr Classica line and installed matching two-car carriage house doors in a rich walnut wood-tone finish. Each door features eight-lite windows for added natural light in the garage, decorative strap hinges, and oil-rubbed bronze handles for an authentic, old-world hardware look. The wood-grain finish was chosen specifically to complement the home’s siding and blend naturally with the surrounding trees, rather than standing out against them.

Beyond the aesthetic upgrade, the new doors brought modern insulation and a properly balanced torsion spring system, solving the mechanical issues that plagued the old setup while giving the home a full curb-appeal transformation. It’s a great example of how the right garage door can modernize function without losing the classic charm that fits Knoxville’s older, established neighborhoods.
