Recent Project
We recently completed a full double-bay garage door replacement for a homeowner in Oak Ridge whose existing door had clearly reached the end of its lifespan. The original door was dated, noisy, and showing visible wear along the bottom panels – something we see often in homes throughout the area, especially near Illinois Avenue and the Woodland neighborhood where many garages still have older builder-grade doors.
The homeowner’s main goal was simple: improve curb appeal and eliminate the daily frustration of a loud, unreliable door.
After walking through a few options on-site, they chose a new insulated garage door in a modern, dark color for stylish contrast to the light-colored brick exterior giving the building a cleaner, more updated look while also improving energy efficiency. Insulation is especially helpful in Oak Ridge homes where garages often sit below living space or share walls with interior rooms.
Before installation, our team safely removed the existing door and inspected the full system — including tracks, hardware, and framing. We then installed:
• New door panels and reinforced tracks
• Updated torsion spring system matched to the door weight
• New rollers and hardware for quieter operation
• Weather sealing to help protect against moisture and drafts
Once installed, we carefully balanced the door and tested the opener to ensure smooth, consistent operation.
By the end of the project, the difference was immediate. The new door not only operates quietly, but completely refreshed the front of the home.
Garage door replacements like this are common throughout Oak Ridge, Karns, and Clinton, where many older doors are starting to show their age after years of daily use and exposure to East Tennessee’s changing seasons.
If your garage door looks outdated, sounds rough, or just doesn’t operate like it used to, a full replacement can make a bigger impact than most homeowners expect.
